This abandoned theatre in Shipka was apparently built in the 1930's. I am unable to find much information on this art-deco theatre which is in quite a derelict state. It would of been rather grand in its prime but now it is in a sad state of disrepair. It was still a pleasure to visit and grab a few shots before lunch.
I would guess it closed a similar time to the Buzludzha Monument. Communist films were shown here at times and as there would of been a lot less visitors to the area and the breakdown of socialism did lead to economic struggle people couldn't afford to go out on a regular basis. Now it seems the only visitors are the odd vandal and urban explorers.
