RAF Bungay, also known as RAF Flixtion was built in 1942 as a satellite for RAF Hardwick.
There was a main runway of 6000 feet and two secondary runways at just over 4000 feet which intersected the main runway. Having looked at various military sites this seems to be a popular design.
The site was used by the USAF during WWii and was home to various squadrons. After the war the sight was used by the Royal Navy and RAF as a maintenance site and bomb stores.
In 1955 the site was closed and a number of buildings were demolished. The runways now house a large factory and a few buildings remain which you can see here.
